What do our students think?

We love hearing from our students. This helps us to improve our services and know what we are doing right. See below what some of our happy students have to say.

I MADE IT!!!

Hello! My name is Waldy Perez, 43 years old, a Filipino student at SBTA & SELA, taking up Certificate III in Individual Support and Aged Care Support IV. For me, age is just a number! I have worked for over 16 years at a famous hospital in the Philippines and decided to change my life. I started looking for my fortune in another country, and here I am in Australia. My agent found SBTA & SELA, which could help with my studies, and we didn’t make a mistake. This is also one of the reasons I got into one of the largest aged care facilities here. The staff are very professional and skilled, especially my teacher, whom we'll call Rahel Gitet. A special mention to her because not only does she teach well, but she also helped boost my confidence in how to interact with residents/clients once I start working, and I wasn’t wrong because I have truly used everything she taught me. I am also grateful to the Student Support staff, Ron Palo. He is a very professional person, and you won’t feel awkward talking to him because he embodies our hospitable nature.

One of the things they look at here is the school you attend, so I didn’t make a mistake coming here. If you are looking for a trustworthy school, choose SBTA & SELA; who knows, they might give me a discount if they find out you read my testimony (hahaha, fingers crossed 🤞).

I made it! Why? Because I got into one of the largest aged care facilities here in Australia, Anglicare Community!

Sending some pictures of myself; I may not look handsome here, but I am happy with what I have achieved with the help of my school. Whatever journey you take, you can achieve your dreams for your family.

“My personal opinion about what I like about SBTA is that you can find support, flexibility and understanding about the life we have as students. And that you can always count with the teachers, they are always going to help you go through your assessments and understand the purpose of every activity.”

“I liked how SBTA allowed us to work on our own small business projects. Majoring in Business back in the Philippines, I wanted to get a good background in Marketing. I was happy to be able to apply all the tools I've learned to case studies and my own hypothetical business. The pace set was just right and teachers were extra helpful and friendly!”

Victoria Tecson

“What I love about my marketing course at SBTA is that you can make the assessments and projects your own. You can bring in own ideas and incorporate own interests in your project plans, which makes them fun and gives them a real dimension. I’ve just started a job in marketing and the projects and assessments at school help me get ideas for my own marketing campaigns and strategies. It’s great how SBTA helps me incorporate what I learn straight into my real job.

“I like Cambridge course because I want to improve my level and learn more grammar. In the future I need to take the exam to get a good job in my country. I feel good, the topics are so interesting for me. I’ve been learning so much, the teacher is very good she does a lot of activities and we can learn easier. I like SELA, I feel great here because everything is amazing.

I'm Anna from Spain, I have been studying at SELA since last September. I started off by studying General English at the intermediate level, but now I'm studying in the Cambridge class so I can really improve my English! Cambridge has been a really good intensive alternative to my General English course. At the same time I'm enjoying the Australian experience.”

“Hi students, my name is Natthakritta Thoppae or you can call me Boat. I first studied General English, and then I changed to the PET course which is a Cambridge course. In this course you can learn and improve your English skills such as, speaking, grammar, listening, writing and reading. Moreover, the course might be interesting for some students whose are also interested in IELTS because the process in this program will help you to understand the Exam system and how the exams are going to be.”

I was happy to come to school at SELA because I have learnt a lot and the class is very friendly and happy. I am Japanese, so for me it was good to be in a class with other nationalities different from my own. I had a great experience studying English here and it has inspired me to want to become a Japanese Teacher in the future.

My name is Sebastian and I am from Ecuador. I have been studying English at Sela for over two months now. My English has improved a lot since I have started studying here. The teachers are excellent and have some great teaching methods, this is one of the main reasons for my progression in English. We have a lot of fun learning English at SELA because there are many events that allow us to practice English and the best thing is that we get to learn about cultures from all over the world through our classmates who become our friends!
